The Law of Life, or in other words, new beginnings
Changes. The only things that remain constant in this life. Sometimes they are welcomed, sometimes dreaded. Bringing indescribable joy and making us reach for the stars, or bringing us to our knees and humbling us with immense pain. But one thing is for sure, changes are transformational. They help us grow and evolve in ways we could never guess, predict nor plan. They guide us in directions unknown to us, strengthening our character, giving us wisdom, and leaving us one memory fuller. Making us change our ways, and look for what’s really important.
Hence, If you have been here before, you may have noticed that a lot of things have changed. First and foremost, the blog has been moved to a new home and is no longer called Unbound Walker. I still love that name and will cherish it as my humble beginnings, but the time has come to start anew, be more focused, and more intentional. Therefore, the future direction I’m moving and the content I’ll be sharing is also changing. It will still be highly revolving around self-development and self-awareness topics but from a fresh perspective and with a few new dimensions added to it.
Thus, all the articles you see up to this point are from the old website. I decided to repost them on here, as they still hold a lot of value, just be mindful that they might not necessarily be in the correct order of how they were posted before, and may not necessarily make complete sense if you’re new.
Second of all, just wanted to share a few realisations. A lot of times when it comes to self-growth content, it is all about self-improvement. Learning how to do things better, be more productive, achieve goals, be successful, or in the words of Daft Punk ‘’Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’’.
But having spent more than a decade swimming in all this literature and lifestyle, I came to a very important conclusion. Which is that people, including me, don’t usually come to these topics because they love themselves and are looking to make things even better or more efficient. No. They try to do better because it stems from the very core belief of not being good enough and the feeling of lack or discontent from the inside. Thus, subconsciously they are looking for the ways to fix themselves or their life, do better, or achieve more, to finally be able to reach that point, where they will be worthy of love, everything will be ok and they will finally be able to relax and breathe with ease. But self-development doesn’t hold the answers to the abyss inside and thus all the efforts to find them there lead to further dissatisfaction.
And because of these reasons, I was forced to look for the answers further than self-development, this time turning to the spirituality field to explore my inner world and inner demons. It sure provided me with new perspectives and insights and helped me to make sense of my past experiences. However, after spending some time there I also noticed that it doesn’t give you a full picture either. There are a lot of teachings, beliefs, and practices that even though they promote love and peace, come from the same mentality of lack, and make you put pressure on yourself even more. Which neither helps you with the problems you’re facing nor gives you peace of mind.
Thus after a lot of years of searching, reading, and trying out things on myself, I realised some important truths. Number 1: there is never ever a single answer that will satisfy the question forever. It is normally a lot of small things, coming together and weaving a new understanding that always changes and evolves over time. Number 2: simplicity is so underestimated. Especially simplicity in complexity. Number 3: nobody knows better than us regarding what we need and what works. Even if it doesn’t seem so and you feel like a headless chicken. And number 4: coming back to your body and grounding yourself makes all the difference in the world. We are the answer that we are looking for.
That’s why my motto is 'Creating Freedom Through Experiences'. The knowledge alone won’t ever be enough for a fulfilling life. Experiences are what allow us to grow, whether we understand it or not. And freedom is what we all crave. Freedom to express ourselves, to live how we desire and to do the things we want. To chase our dreams and absorb life to the fullest. Be free from others and most importantly, from ourselves.
Therefore a big part of what I do is still revolving around self-growth. But self-growth not through the majorly portrayed improvement picture, but through Empowerment and building an intimate relationship with yourself. Still finding the best, most efficient methods, but adapting them to your needs. Spirituality not for the sake of enlightenment or meditation, but for being at peace in the midst of the world and the chaos it brings. Learning to love and accept the imperfect, and opening yourself up to whatever you’re experiencing. Doing shadow work and shattering your own beliefs to unchain yourself and rebirth like a phoenix.
So this next chapter won’t only be a blog about self-improvement. It will be a place encouraging you to put yourself first, helping you in your self-awareness journey, and then living a fulfilling life based on that. But not necessarily because it’s successful or is widely accepted. But because you’re following your inner compass and from the very core and every fiber of your being it feels right and it feels good.
So let’s create that freedom together.
Until the next time,
